John Marin's Wabi Sabi

Haven't done a great job staying current with art this year, not that I ever have. So what I do when I want to do an art post is search my mind after posing myself the question: Who do I like? Half the time the answer is: John Marin. I guess that's because I like things that are a little rough and sketchy, giving off an improvisational vibe. What I guess I'm saying is that I like that wabi sabi aesthetic: "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete." This is a cover Marin did for Alfred Stieglitz's 291 arts mag -- way back in 1915! Birth of the modern.
