A perfect performance by Ella Fitzgerald of a perfect song by Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg. I defy you to tell me that there is anything better in American popular music. Famously, the producers of The Wizard of Oz initially didn't want to include Judy Garland's performance. They thought that bringing the action to a stop for several minutes so early in the film was madness. I forget why they changed their minds, but fortunately for us, they did.
