That's a Lot of Bugs
I don't have any commentary to share, no compelling subjectivities that I've just got to put out there. So I will lay a fact on you instead. How many individual insects are there in the world? According to the Smithsonian Institute, there are approximately a quintillion. That's a million raised to the power of five, and it looks like this: 10,000,000,000,000,000,000. That's a lot of zeros, and that's a lot of bugs, more than my brain can handle. Basically, it's incomprehensible. But it's life.
