Poem: "Needed (How the Bleeding Stopped)"
Still unsure
What you might have done
What adjustment you might have made
To get everything to fit
But you couldn’t do it and she was no help
Standing there mute
And you flailing, wanting to hit something
You were bleeding inside
You found some pills that sort of worked
But they made your heart beat crazy
Anyway it wasn’t the pills that fixed it
It was her father’s death
You were sleeping in his bed
When you knew it was over
That the bleeding had stopped
That you were needed
That the bleeding had stopped
That you were needed
What you might have done
What adjustment you might have made
To get everything to fit
But you couldn’t do it and she was no help
Standing there mute
And you flailing, wanting to hit something
You were bleeding inside
You found some pills that sort of worked
But they made your heart beat crazy
Anyway it wasn’t the pills that fixed it
It was her father’s death
You were sleeping in his bed
When you knew it was over
That the bleeding had stopped
That you were needed
That the bleeding had stopped
That you were needed
