Poem: "One Thousand and One Think Pieces"

1.
One thousand and one think pieces
And not a single moment of catharsis
Or even any discussion of the spiritual in art.

2.
Too few care about their parents’ karma
Or how many lifetimes it must have taken
For Sam Cooke to be able to sing like that.

3.
Faith, hope, and charity are scarce among
The good citizens of the promised land,
Unsure about living but afraid to die.
