This Week in Single Metaphor Songs: "Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground"

Is it just me, or does country music feature the most single metaphor songs? I'm pretty sure it does. And I suppose many are silly or forced. But when they work, they work, like Willie's does here. Willie is a singular figure in American music, a genre unto himself. And there's a reason he and Miles Davis were friends: you know them both upon hearing a single note. One of Willie's best guitar solos here: fluid and oblique at the same time. Somewhere Django smiles.
